A Saturday night full of surprises.

While I continue to look for a new/additional position, I thought I would offer my affordable services to help others.

Please retweet if possible and maybe I can help someone you know.

Above, at night, in downtown #Kelowna #mbfeb šŸ“·

Enrolled for my continuing education program (online) thinking I’d be able to work through it next week. Nope. I have to wait a month to do the assignments. It’s 2020!

Should juse use a service like udemy to manage it.

The toughest words to hear from my daughter are when she tells me, ā€œI donā€™t want to go to my momā€™s next week.ā€ Just heartbreaking that she doesnā€™t have a good relationship with her

I donā€™t understand people who tell you to do a thing, so you do the thing, but then tell you to not to do the thing after youā€™ve already done it.

My motivation to accomplish anything today is at a major low. The overcast weather is just making the headache I’m fighting that much worse. I really don’t want to look at screens today to try and get something done.

Spending my Saturday morning adjusting the fonts in my writing apps to JetBrains Mono. The website is quite something to browse through too: www.jetbrains.com/lp/mono/

I shouldā€™ve double checked my appointment time before leaving my place in a rush. Now waiting for an hour.

My secret to surviving this cold week: throwing my hoodie into the dryer for ten minutes. Toasty warm.

A funny thing happened in Starbucks today. I was recognized because they recognized my daughter from Instagram. Does that make me Instafamous or just her?

A rather disappointing day for me. I was informed a few weeks ago that I didnā€™t get a position that I went through three stages of interviews for. Today I found out that the company had hired someone with zero experience over me. Itā€™s a rather demanding position too.

Thatā€™s going to sting for awhile.

Don’t you just love when you go to grab something but realize you don’t have it, so you buy more and then think, “I should really store it in this different spot,” but then you go to put it away in said spot and discover Past You has already done that with an unopened package?!

Watching the Golden Globes with my daughter. She sees Jennifer Anniston walk up to present and says, ā€œShe looks like one of the actresses on a show Iā€™m watching.ā€

She has watched a few episodes of Friends. #GoldenGlobes

I was feeling cold so put on my hoodie. Started watching The Godfather and drinking bourbon. Now Iā€™m sweating in the new year.

#HappyNewYear!

That scene in Christmas Vacation when Chevy Chase is watching home movies in the attic and crying? It’s me.

That feeling when you want to be productive but have had too much to drink to accomplish anything.

A rather enjoyable evening with The Last Jedi (in preparation for tomorrow’s viewing of the new movie), SNL with Eddie Murphy (haven’t laughed so hard in a long time), and (several) old fashioneds.

Someday, I’ll become much better at selling myself. It’s so difficult to convince people that I can do the job when I’m easy going and soft-spoken. Not everyone needs to be someone who acts like the world is on fire.

Staying in a tent at a campground in Delta this weekend. I must say, thereā€™s nothing quite like waking up at 6am listening to the sounds of people packing up their tents or someone else hacking up a lung.

Penalty for saying, ā€œIā€™m bored,ā€ when I was a kid: 25 cents.

Penalty for my daughter complaining on this trip: $10 off her budget at IKEA for her bedroom.

Inflation.

The bourbon got me tonight. How about you?

It’s been a discouraging morning today in the office, but I can be thankful that the sun is shining, I’m healthy, and I had a fairly relaxing long weekend to recharge with Kylie. Trying to stay positive during rocky times at work.
